Tight Supply Drives Up Coal Prices on Global Markets

Coal prices rose across major international markets last week as coal supply disruptions met firm demand. The gains were particularly visible in Asia, where 5,500 NAR coal at Qinhuangdao moved above $120 a short ton. Lower inventories and tighter spot availability helped support the increase, while chemical and cement makers stepped up restocking ahead of a seasonal rise in production. Protecting a long-overlooked immune organ during cancer treatment may meaningfully improve outcomes for lung cancer patients, according to new research from Mass General Brigham.
